front before

57 -59 Rutland Square was a pair of rooming houses that had fallen into total disrepair through many years of neglect and over use.

The decorative plaster was restored and repaired in most of the major rooms and the mahogany woodwork stripped and restored.
In addition two pair of matching doors and brackets from other demolished South End houses were found and rebuilt to replace the front doors that were missing.

The building was converted into four units on each side, two duplexes and two single floors.
